RE: Lance Camper Shocks

Without seeing the photos, it is hard to tell, but possibly, the shocks should not have been installed to begin with. Not all manufacturers design camper support points for them and some clearly warn against them. Also the actual truck might be different than the one originally used. So legnth, and mounting angle could be issues. I think the other four tieddowns are 99% of the issue, and it is their proper use that will keep camper where it is supposed to be.
I am sure others will have more useful info.
Good luck.

RE: Beware of Mike Thompson's RV

Hey that is great! Thanks for the update. Sometimes it only takes one badly trained person to gum up a whole long hard frought for reputation. Hopefully it only takes one to sound that alarm and make a difference for all.

RE: RV PARKS TO AVOID !!

I don't think its an absurd post, just one persons opinion. You as a reader should be able to evaluate it, make your comments and then move on. We all have different value systems. It's like a teacher telling a student, thats a dumb question. This is a forum for discussion in my opinion. I for one see a lot of stupid posts (to me) but not to the person who writes it.

RE: Beware of Mike Thompson's RV

Phartlov, welcome to the forum.
I just noticed this thread, and felt that more than the original post, the general responses deserved my reaction:
It is easy for one to say you are making a big deal out of something small.
BUT, there are numerous venders to buy from.
Today it is a very small world.
How you feel and how you are treated is EVERYTHING.
No one here has the right to say your feelings are trivial.
No one here should minimize your complaing.
While the remote and gas might have little value, this was an issue of principle.
Those items were part of the package, and in some way might have swayed you to purchase from this vender rather than another. By them dragging this out, and being non responsive, they effectively are expressing their lack of respect for you as a person.
NOTHING can be more important! IF they do not value your right to be able to count on their promise, and your right to feel slighted, when even IF due to an employee's incompetance you experience stress, then we all should be concerned.
Your time, and emotion is important. The fact that you had to make numerous calls, and spend time posting this, is a pain that counts against their desire to be successful in business by caring about you.
It is unfortunate that while venders are not permitted to post here, vender sympathizers feel that defense is proper even when it is actually counter productive.
Phartlov is upset. He should not be upset. Something upset him.
The dealer can make him happy. The issue here is not IF he should be upset, BUT rather why any dealer would not just take care of it.
Ultimately, the number of complaints any vender gets will be proportionate to what they deserve. You cannot please everyone. A shopper, will no doubt hear great praise from numerous PRO vender sites and should research sufficiently to judge unballanced customers who complain for no reason from those that in numbers have a reason.
This site should be for RVers who can tell it as they see it.
But when a person complains, usually they have already gone thru more than they expected, and I think they should be given the benefit of the doubt here.
Invariably, it seems that after a few pages of responses, the tide always turns towards the vender, and this lessens the ultimate value of this site for everyone.
Just my humble view.
